Troop 214 and District 5 has scheduled its annual Fall Camporee for September 24-25-26. The theme is Brownsea Island (see Baden-Powell) and the location will be at Frog Point camping ground near Buxton, ND. This will be a great time for all Scouts to come together and celebrate Scouting's Centennial one more time in our beautiful fall climate. Check-in is available starting at 7pm on Friday Sept 24. More information will be available at the September Roundtable. Campfires, s'mores, hot dogs, merit badges...what fun. Please mark it down and make plans to attend!

The Troop 214 Annual Pitchfork Steak Fondue will be held at Faith United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 18 from 3pm to 6:30pm. Scouts, get your book of tickets to sell to your friends, families and neighbors. Cost is $10 in advance, $13 at the door. For $10 you get a steak, baked potato, baked beans, cole slaw, roll and beverage. Our Scouts get $50 toward their registration fee if they sell a book of 10 tickets and work a shift at the Fondue. The work schedule is now out, if there are any changes please contact Ken. Also, if you need more tickets, please call Ken - 237-4540.

Hi Everyone! Troop 214 2010 Philmont hikers and their families would like to invite the Troop to a potluck dinner to view a slide show prepared and presented by the hikers of their hike. So, please mark your calendars on Sunday, Sept 12 5-7pm for this get together at Holy Spirit Church in the Social Hall (1420 7th St N in North Fargo). There is a parking lot to the north of the church and an entrance there. The Social Hall will be to your left. We will have the potluck at 5pm which will include some brats leftover from our sales this past summer. To make it simple we ask everyone to bring a dish or dessert to share. Paper plates, cups, napkins, eating utensils and a drink will be supplied. If your family will attend, send an RSVP to Anne Schneider at aseeba@msn.com so we know how many to plan for.  Hope to see you – this is a good opportunity for the younger scouts to see the older scouts in action. Kevin and Lora Elfstrum, owners of Sir Speedy, 123 South University Drive Fargo, received a Centruy Club Award that recognizes 100 of the top franchises in the entire network for outstanding sales achievement in 2009. The award is presented annually at the Sir Speedy International Convention, held this year in San Antonio.

Thursday August 26 is our "Back to Scouts" night at Troop 214. We are calling all Scouts to come out to our Troop meeting at 7:15 pm on Thursday night, and asking to bring a friend and recruit them into Scouts. Let's get back into the swing of Scouts at Troop 214!
