Scout Meeting/Swim Test

Posted on Jul 6 2017 - 5:49pm

Monday night, July 10, we will have a two-part meeting. For those Scouts and adults interested in taking the swimming test early for camp, you can go to Island Park pool at 6:30pm and Skip Fisher will be there to conduct our troop swimming test. This is not a requirement as you can still take it right away at camp on the first afternoon. However it is sometimes easier and less stressful to take it early. Also, at 6:30pm Bill Stanfel will be at the troop meeting for the WhyKnot class. At 7:15 the regular meeting will start so those that have taken the swim test can stop over after that. Rodney Von Bruggen heard from the Council that they are requiring all dates on immunization shots to be fully filled in so when you are getting your physicals make sure you get the dates of all shots. Please bring your physicals to Monday's meeting to turn in ahead of time.

This is a new food program for Moorhead, MN and is a joint effort between First Congregational UCC Moorhead, Moorhead State Technical and Community College and Ruby's Pantry.

Eagle Project help requested

Posted on Jun 19 2017 - 5:18pm

On Saturday, June 24 we will be working on my Eagle project from 9am-12pm, weather permitting. For Scouts, this will count toward service hour requirements needed for rank advancement. The location is at the Fargo Project, located in the water retention basin just to the north of Rabanus Park at 4315 18th Avenue South (just off of 42nd Street South). The ideal spot to park will likely be in the Rabanus Park lot, right to the northwest of the Schlossman YMCA. We will be located near the South end of the basin. The Fargo Project can be somewhat muddy at times, but we are hoping for dry weather. There is a small stream that we will be building a bridge over. It is recommended to wear old clothes with long pants, shoes or boots that might get muddy, and a hat. Also it is suggessted to bring gloves and extra shoes. At the end of our work at around noon, we will be providing lunch. Snacks, water, suntan lotion, and  bug spray will also be available. If weather does not cooperate on Saturday, our backup date for this project is Sunday, June 25 at 9am. You can read more about the Fargo Project at http://www.thefargoproject.com/.Hope to see you there, and thanks in advance. Adam Laschkewitsch 701-280-9188.
